Innovative Fertility Center provides Custom Infertility Tests to Uncover the Causes of your Infertility.
Day 2 or 3 FSH
For diagnostic purposes, we will conduct a Day 2 or 3 FSH test. This simple blood test will measure your levels of FSH (follicle stimulating hormone – a hormone released from the pituitary gland in the brain that stimulates an egg follicle to grow each month as part of the menstrual cycle). Elevated blood levels of FSH indicate ovarian maturing, as greater amounts of the hormone are required for the ovary to recruit and stimulate an egg follicle.
Hysterosalpingogram
A hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is an X-ray test using a dye that flows into the uterus and fallopian tubes. Using a steady beam of X-ray as the dye passes through the uterus and fallopian tubes, the x-ray and pictures can show problems such as an injury or abnormal structure of the uterus or fallopian tubes, or a blockage that would prevent an egg moving through a fallopian tube to the uterus or sperm from moving through the uterus to find the egg for fertilization. A hysterosalpingogram may also find problems on the internal structure of the uterus that may prevent a fertilized egg from implanting to the uterine wall. This test will also indicate problems in the uterus, such as an abnormal shape, structure, or injury.
Ultrasound
A simple trans vaginal ultrasound is a safe and non-invasive test that will show many important aspects of the female pelvis such as ovarian maturity and egg reserves, uterus lining and abnormalities, evidence of scarring, fibroids, etc. The proper development of the follicle, which contains the egg, and the timing of its release is critical to the evaluation of infertility.
