The history reviews starts with a careful history of symptoms and previous experiences.

Questions for women & men may include:

• A review of the menstrual cycle
• Past history of sexually transmitted disease, painful periods or intercourse
• Questions about prior pregnancies, successful or otherwise.
• An evaluation of any environmental exposures or social habits that could lead or contribute to infertility (smoking, drinking alcohol, or drug usage)
• A review of past medical history, prior surgeries and medications
• An account of family history of infertility or birth defects.
