Diminished Ovarian Reserve and Poor Egg Quality are Common Causes of Infertility in Women of Advanced Maternal Age.

Diminished ovarian reserve refers to eggs that have a decreased ability to produce pregnancies that is a diminishment in quality eggs and also manifests around the age of 35. We treat age-related infertility in several ways. Once the fertility diagnosis of low or diminished ovarian reserve is made, the treatment plan is developed accordingly. It is increasingly recognized that egg quality is critical and women of advanced maternal age may experience few symptoms that could be attributed to the reduced capacity for successful fertilization.
