Treatment for PCOS
Fertility Treatment for PCOS
Not all women with PCOS have trouble conceiving, but a course of treatment is required to achieve a successful pregnancy. The fertility treatment for PCOS varies depending on a woman’s age, her reproductive stage and family planning goals.
Fortunately, fertility medications to induce ovulation can help women diagnosed with PCOS become pregnant. Dr. Rispler and Dr. Berger typically prescribes an oral medication, or a class of injectable fertility medications called Gonadotropins.
Some women with PCOS may benefit from in vitro fertilization (IVF) to achieve pregnancy. With IVF, we stimulate the ovaries to produce multiple eggs. Next, the doctor retrieves those eggs with the patient under sedation and works with Innovative Fertility Center’s embryologist to choose the best specimens to combine with sperm in the IVF lab. The final step involves transferring the fertilized egg (embryo) back into the uterus for implantation.
